SUPPORT YOUR BJJ CREATORS
This week, we’ve got the biggest and best resource in all of Jiu-Jitsu - BJJ Mental Models 💪
BJJ Mental Models just keeps getting better and better.
With more and more podcasts, resources and deeeeep BJJ knowledge being added week on week, it’s making Netflix look more and more like a waste of time.
If I had one complaint though, I am always left wondering if my guard is so easy to pass because it’s actually cake, or if I suck. Hopefully, they’ll drop a podcast on that soon…👇

QUESTION TIME
What Keeps You Up At 2 am?
Let’s talk about sex.
No, not like that, you hornbags. The opposite sex.
Most jiu-jitsu gyms the world over are a melting pot of men and women slapping hands and training together.
And most of the time, as biology would have it, the guys are big, sweaty and aggressive while the girls are … often not (I know there are exceptions, but stay with me here.)
As a bigger guy, there’s not much to be gained for anyone by smash passing the smaller women in the gym and ripping on armbars. But it is a great chance to work on guard positions, controlled movement and really sharpen technique.
Many of the women in our gym also like training with the guys, as they can turn it right up and see how their technique works against people much bigger than they are.
But with all that said, there are definitely those in BJJ who don’t want to train with the opposite sex for a number of reasons - be it size differences, goal differences or something else entirely.
So, this week, we want to know - where’s it sit for you?👇
This week’s big question:
Are You Happy To Train With The Opposite Sex? |
The last poll’s results:
Last time, we asked you - “What's the hardest BJJ belt to get through?”
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ ⬜️ - Zero to White Belt is the hardest
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟦 - Surviving the Blue Flu
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🟪 - Beating the Purple Plateau
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🟫 - Busted & broken at Brown
⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ ⬛️ - Staying in the game after Black
Well, it‘s unanimous and hardly surprising - almost everyone sees Blue Belt as the career destroyer.
The pressure builds, the expectations lift, and everyone from trial white belts to seasoned black belts wants to put you through your paces…👇

BY BULLETPROOF FOR BJJ
The Weekly Fix
Last time, Joey & JT looked at the wild pace of progress that BJJ practitioners are currently showing at the highest levels - and how it’s even changing what the belt system means.
This week, they sit down with the man, the myth, the killer of drillers -Greg Souders! 😎
Drilling Is For Builders & Carpenters …
Drilling is dead - just ask Greg.
In this episode, the boys sit down with Greg Souders — a man on a mission to kill off traditional drilling and revolutionise the way we train Jiu-Jitsu.
In case you’ve been living under side-control - Greg’s the Papi of ecological learning: a method that mimics real grappling scenarios from the start, forces adaptation, and apparently gets results without putting in the endless reps.
Love him or hate him (…and many do), the man’s got a plan - and it might just be the key to levelling up without grinding your knees into dust?
Hit play above for Part 1 of the Greg chat.

FREAK FOR THE TECHNIQUE
Silky Smooth Sequencing…
Jon Calestine is a great follow if you haven’t found him yet. He’s a Digitsu alumnus and is as sharp as they come on the details.
He often drops solid concepts and techniques, ranging from minor upgrades and adjustments we can all use, through to high-level sequences that can really open up a new area of your game.
