QUESTION TIME
What Keeps You Up At 2 am?
You know how your Uncle always asks you, ‘How’s your little karate hobby going?’ despite the fact you’ve told him a million times ‘It’s jiu-jitsu, fool!’
Well, that’s because he grew up in the ‘70s and '80s, when karate ruled supreme in the martial arts world thanks to legends like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Mr. Miyagi.
And while it seemed like ‘Wax On, Wax Off’ would be the only martial arts lingo you’d ever need, Karate peaked … and then flatlined, falling off a major cliff in popularity and dying a quiet death.
Pour one out for Karate … but surely that could never happen to BJJ, right? 😧
With the UFC aiming to throw $10 million+ at the sport and CJI stacking up millions in prize money, surely we are on a one-way rocketship to Oss-town!
Then again, nothing is safe from the 3-second attention span of Gen-Z, and maybe jiu-jitsu’s time in the spotlight is limited too … 🤔

Many of us think that there’s no point in getting a remedial massage, we are only gonna get smashed up again next week anyway, right?
Well, that may be true, but getting some serious soft tissue work done from time to time can really help solve some of those ongoing issues - and actually get you more time on the mats by preventing injury.
It doesn’t even always need to be a massage session - sometimes, just rolling out those sore spots or even just sitting with a massage ball for half an hour will do the trick.

Well, the uchi mata has been hot content since then, so we thought this week was a great time to show this slightly different, yet highly amplified approach by One Judoka.
In true internet fashion, there’s a stream of arguments over whether or not it’s still technically an uchi mata, but, you know - who cares?
